Ice dyeing is a fun and surprising way to create unique fabrics. In this two-day class, participants will learn different ways of manipulating fabric prior to applying high quality, fiber reactive dyes. Students will then take home the prepared pieces and apply ice. They will return with their initial dyed fabrics (and cleaned equipment!) the next day and pick up additional pointers that will set you on the road to creating your own fabrics. Much of the equipment you need for this class is provided, as are an appropriate face mask, six fat quarters, and the necessary dyes. Supply list: * Household gloves, like for dishwashing * Clothes that you don't mind possibly getting permanently dyed * A large new trash bag * A Sharpie pen

If you've ever been enchanted by any of the wonderful patterns from the ladies at Sew Kind of Wonderful, and then been scared off by the many curves, this is the class for you. We'll go through the steps of cutting using their tools and then learn the tricks of stitching those curves. (Hint: it?s not hard!) And when you've repeated the blocks a few times, look (above) at the type of quilt you will have made! All you need to bring is your machine in good working order and the usual supplies, thread, and four fat quarters (or equivalent).
